Words from the dark, with a little light left over
"There is no exquisite beauty… without some strangeness in the proportion." — Edgar Allan Poe
The Author
Bybee is a writer drawn to the shadowed corners of storytelling — the places where dread and wonder share a narrow hallway. Raised on Poe and rainstorms, she has always believed that the most honest writing lives just at the edge of comfortable.
Her work spans gothic fiction, poetry, and essays that tend to get a little too honest after midnight. She has a fondness for ravens, unreliable narrators, tea gone cold, and sentences that take a sudden turn.
When she isn't writing, she can be found haunting used bookshops, collecting peculiar trinkets, or talking to her plants in a way that suggests she expects them to answer.
